A teen girl who had been missing since her parents were found dead at their Wisconsin home in October has been found alive, the Barron County Sheriff's Department confirms.

According to the Barron County Sheriff's Department, Jayme was located alive by the Douglas County, Wisconsin, Sheriff's Department.

The Barron County sheriff's office planned to hold a news conference on Friday morning to discuss the case.

MADISON, Wisconsin- A Wisconsin teenager missing for almost three months after her parents were killed in the family home was found alive barely an hour's drive away, by a woman who stumbled across the 13-year-old girl and pounded on her neighbors' door shouting: "This is Jayme Closs!". Their 13 year-old daughter Jayme Closs was missing. Law enforcement agencies across the country are put on alert as the case makes national news. We also could not have endured this case without the support of the public and I want to thank them for all the support and help.

Franklin police, in a statement issued around 3 p.m., would only say the "ongoing criminal investigation is active and ongoing".

In December, Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald shared troubling details about the crime scene with DailyMail.com. Police said a suspect is in custody.

"I honestly had faith", she said. "From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU!" A dispatcher, however, could hear yelling, according to records.

She said she was walking her dog and nearing her cabin when she saw the 13-year-old walking down the road. The Barron County Sheriff's Department posted on its Facebook page Thursday evening that she had been found alive in Douglas County, Wisconsin, which borders Lake Superior.

"The family would help anyone, anytime, with anything they needed".

Both Jayme and Denise have been described as quiet, kind, religious and giving, an example of how a loving mom raised her daughter with her own good values.

Jayme was believed to be home when they were killed but had been abducted by the time authorities arrived.

The child's disappearance made national news, sparking massive searches, with 1,500 volunteers scouring woods and fields in suburban Minneapolis, and the offer of a US$25,000 (S$33,700) reward for her safe return.
