Maurizio Sarri Confirms He Wants Two New Players At Chelsea This January

"At the moment Higuain's our player and we're holding on tightly to him" said coach Gennaro Gattuso

The Blues are now being linked with a host of potential reinforcements this month as Maurizio Sarri considers bolstering his squad ahead of the second half of the season.

Sarri said he had recommended to Chelsea that two players be signed, but declined to say their positions.

Willian started the game vs Spurs earlier this week while Pedro came on as a second-half substitute but during the Chelsea vs Newcastle game Sarri might push the Brazilian to the bench and in turn hand Pedro a start. I spoke with the club and the club knows very well my opinion. "My opinion is important for the club, but I can not tell you my opinion".

"As you know very well I am not in control of the transfer market".

"It's insane to have a market of 30 days in this moment of the season, because we play every three days, so we need rest", Sarri added.

Hudson-Odoi is the son of former Hearts of Oak Ghanaian midfielder Bismark Odoi which makes him eligible to play for the senior national team, Black Stars, despite representing England at every age group from under-16 to under-19 level.

He did say if Alvaro Morata leaves, with loan moves to Sevilla and Atletico Madrid mooted, Chelsea would need a replacement.

"Of course, if Morata will go to another club we need a replacement", the manager said.

Sarri declined to comment on persistent links with his former Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain, who is on loan at AC Milan from Juventus. I am happy with the player because he is improving, improving a lot in the defensive phase.

"At the moment, Morata is here".

"I am very happy with the player and would like to have him in the future".

Chelsea have failed to score in their last two home games in the league.

Sarri said: "We need to solve this problem". We need to improve in attacking the spaces.
