New LG Signature OLED TV R features rollable display

Also, the company not only confirmed the "Signature OLED TV R" the product name for the 65-inch roll-up TV, but also revealed that it will be available for purchase later this year. For those who want to create a cozy atmosphere, it has a "Mood" mode that plays a video of a fireplace or displays mood-specific light on the screen.

LG Electronics unveiled the world's first "rollable" television at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2019 that launched in Las Vegas, United States, on Tuesday. Other companies including Samsung, Sony, Hisense and TCL are also set to debut 8K TVs this year.

LG has not said anything about the pricing yet. The great sound system is just an added bonus.

The base is slightly longer than 60 inches across but half that size vertically.

"Should the TV only stand on the ground?" The price for the LG product hasn't been released, but going off the company's $8,000 "wallpaper" OLED TV from 2018, this new television won't come cheap.

The TV can be rolled into a roll. That doesn't mean that the TV could survive a direct strike from a flying object like, say, a CRT could when they were popular a decade ago, but it certainly shouldn't wilt over time, either.

When more details begin to roll in (puns!), we'll let you know.

The Z9 will also utilise HDMI 2.1 to support higher and variable frame-rate content and EARC audio.

When the TV is fully exposed, you're treated to a 4K HDR OLED TV set.

The industry expects 8K to push consumers towards larger screens because the difference between 8K (7680×4320 pixels) and 4K (3840 x 2160 pixels) will effectively be indistinguishable to the human eye on smaller TVs. OLED picture quality is still at the top of the table compared to standard LED-LCD. The new TV is equipped with LG's second generation of Alpha 9 intelligent processor and deep learning algorithm for a stunning AI picture and sound quality.
