Snowfall accumulations of 5 or more inches possible. Beginning in the early hours of Saturday, snow will begin to overspread the state and fall steadily through the early afternoon.

Our first decent snow of the season still appears on target for the weekend. A heavy, wet snow will likely occur late Friday into early Saturday morning along the I-70 corridor through IL.

The storm will move into the Kansas City area Friday, starting out as rain and drizzle that will transition to a wintry mix Friday afternoon. "Temperatures will be close to freezing and that will help with road treatments and being able to melt snow". Highs will be in the upper 30s-low 40s.

This evening the transition from rain to snow will occur and wouldn't be surprised if by 9pm all of northeast Kansas will be getting snow. The Palmer Divide and neighborhoods on the west side of town could see around 3 to 6 inches of snow.

Temperatures are forecast to remain in the 20s and 30s into early next week. Stay tuned for details.

Snow accumulations are expected with this storm. This will be a heavy, wet snow with not much wind.

Portions of central Virginia, the Virginia Piedmont and extreme southern Maryland.

For the metro, confidence is high that we will receive at least 1 to 3 inches of snow. Light on-and-off snow will continue into Monday afternoon.
