Apple CEO Tim Cook has referred in the past financial year, a fifth more salary. In an in-depth interview, he branded talk of constant settlement talks with Qualcomm as "fake news".

Cook said he wasn't surprised by the market reaction, calling it "quite emotional in the short term".

While Cook's remarks may seem like standard hyperbolic CEO-speak, the Apple Watch's new ECG app is already saving lives.

Cook mentioned these things in an interview with CNBC on the show "Mad Money" hosted by Jim Cramer.

At CES 2019, there have been many manufacturers' announcing support for Apple's AirPlay 2 as well as their HomeKit that allows users to cast directly from their IOS devices.

"Look, the truth is, we haven't been in any settlement discussions with them since the third calendar quarter of previous year".

The Apple boss put particular emphasis on healthcare.

In fact, looking back from the future, Cook said, Apple's "greatest contribution" won't be the iPod, or the iPhone, but rather its health technology. He stated that with products like the Apple Watch, ResaearchKit and CareKit Apple was "democratizing" healthcare. Cook further adds, "We are taking what has been with the institution and empowering the individual to manage their health". Munster said if the promotion were to end, Cook would have "avoided the topic" in the interview.

If you need evidence of this, go back just a few days ago to when Apple made that bombshell announcement that its holiday quarter revenue is going to come in softer than expected.

On the topic of AirPods and Watch, as well as the fact that Apple is not disclosing unit sales numbers in its financial reports anymore, Cook gives an interesting ballpark figure which I'm sure analysts will pore over in the future. Usually, iPhones make up for a substantial portion of the company's sales every year. Also regarding the discussions between the United States and China in the trade dispute, he was "very optimistic". With Disney and other major companies entering the video streaming business, if Apple wants to take a good piece of the pie, then the streaming service has to be on multiple platforms.

People walk by a video display promoting 5G connectivity at the Qualcomm booth during the 2019 CES in Las Vegas, Nevada, US January 8, 2019. "This is, in our view, illegal".
