President Donald Trump on Thursday claimed he had no knowledge that Paul Manafort, his onetime campaign chairman, allegedly shared internal 2016 Trump campaign polling data with a suspected former Russian intelligence officer.

According to CNN, Manafort told his accountant in a November 2016 email to expect a $2.4 million payment for consulting work he performed in Ukraine.

"This shows that Bob Mueller can demonstrate to a court, without the testimony of Paul Manafort, that the campaign had a connection to Russian intelligence and the connection involved information going from the campaign to the Russians", Napolitano said. He referred Reuters to Schiff's statement that lawmakers on the committee "need to find out" about Manafort's interaction with Kilimnik on polling data.

CNN reported that Tony Fabrizio, a partner at Republican public opinion firm Fabrizio, Lee & Associates, was spotted leaving the special counsel's office on February 1 of 2018, and has since been confirmed to be meeting with investigators at that time.

News of Manafort's coordination with the Russian, Konstantin Kilimnik, came to light by mistake on Tuesday when his defense team failed to properly redact portions of a court document meant to defend their client from accusations he lied to investigators.

"No, I didn't know anything about that", Trump replied. President Trump denies any campaign collusion with Russian Federation. Trump did not elaborate and turned to another reporter with a question on a different topic. Manafort, who sat in a wheelchair during a court hearing in October, also has severe gout, his lawyers said.

Manafort already faces lengthy prison sentences for charges brought by Mueller's office in Virginia and Washington, D.C.

U.S. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson ordered Mueller to respond by January 14 with "factual and evidentiary basis" for why it is accusing Manafort of lying during his cooperation.
