'Game of Thrones' Final Season Premiere Date Revealed

Game of Thrones releases new season 8 teaser, official premiere date

Game of Thrones releases new season 8 teaser, official premiere date

We officially know when the final season of Game of Thrones will premiere!

The eighth and final season of "Game of Thrones" begins April 14.

Season eight will premiere at 1pm, April 15, Sky said.

In the tease, which was directed by David Nutter (a "Game of Thrones" veteran director, who did the fifth season finale), Jon meets up with Arya and Sansa in the Winterfell crypts. After almost seventeen months of waiting for a new episode of the beloved fantasy series (suffering through our own version of author George R.R. Martin's Long Night), we finally know when Game of Thrones season 8 will premiere, thanks to a new teaser featuring the Stark children who have gathered at Winterfell walking through the crypts. Finally, the Stark siblings will know that Jon is not Ned Stark's illegitimate son but his nephew and a Targaryen.

But Entertainment Weekly warns fans not to get their hopes up for a full "Game of Thrones" season trailer on Sunday.

The major source of excitement for fans will be seeing Jon and Arya reunited. As all three Stark kids stand in front of their own crypt statues, they turn as a frost creeps down the hallway. "It's an incredibly emotional haunting bittersweet final season and I think it honors very much what [author George R.R. Martin] set out to do - which is flipping this kind of story on its head". The series will return for one last ride in April of 2019.
