The five juveniles, ages 12 to 16, were taken into custody on the charge of criminal homicide in connection with the fatal shooting of 24-year-old Kyle Yorlets outside his Nashville home in the 3200 block of Torbett Street Thursday.

The suspects were identified as Diamond Lewis, 15; Roniyah McKnight, 14; Decorrius Wright, 16; as well as the 12-year-old and a 13-year-old boy whose names were withheld due to their ages. Three of the five are girls, and prosecutors are expected to try them all as adults, reports the Tennessean.

He made it back inside, where he was found by one of his housemates around 3 p.m.

Police recovered two stolen pistols upon arresting the teens.

Officials say they believe Yorlets resisted and was shot. "We are heartbroken. We will never forget Kyle, and though he is gone too soon his legacy is here to stay". He was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, investigators said.

"On February 7, 2019 we lost our brother, best friend and bandmate Kyle Yorkets", Carverton posted.

A 24-year-old man was shot and killed during an attempted robbery outside his West Nashville home Thursday.

"The investigation shows that the five were in a stolen Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck in the alley that runs behind Yorlets' home when they spotted him outside".

According to police, the suspects had a stolen loaded pistol with them and a second loaded pistol was found inside the store.

Police said the group took Yorlets' wallet and demanded that he give up the keys to his vehicle.

According to the press release, officers found the pickup truck a short time later.

The young killers were well armed - they had been stealing guns from vehicles for months, cops said.

A former college roommate of Yorlets, Alec Koukol, described his friend as a "kind, friendly and charismatic soul ...who was very passionate about music". They have been booked into juvenile detention.

A colleague from the restaurant Pastaria, where Yortlets worked, spoke out saying he was "such a kind and forgiving person".
