OnePlus to show off 5G phone prototype at MWC 2019

The company had said that the event is for the networking objective only and that it does not intend to launch any new product. The tech giant is working to release a 5G phone with the United States carrier Verizon in the first half of 2019, as well as two other 5G phones with AT&T. Today the Chinese company confirmed that its MWC event is directly related with the 5G OnePlus handset.

The announcement of the 5G demonstration at MWC was posted by XDA Developers.

In regard to this particular event, OnePlus is inviting everyone to "communicate" over a 5G network at its stand within Qualcomm's booth at Mobile World Congress. Additionally, the popular brand revealed that attendees will be able to "experience the capabilities of 5G gaming" through one of its latest "OnePlus 5G Prototypes". The company's CEO has spoken about the 5G revolution and how OnePlus will be launching a 5G-ready handset, which will arrive alongside a non-5G flagship. Keep an eye out for the limited-edition Qualcomm x OnePlus pin badge, only available at the OnePlus stand.

The OnePlus 7 has to be more than just a minor upgrade over the OnePlus 6T to take on the best phones of 2019. And the fact that OnePlus' 5G smartphone will be powered by a Snapdragon 855 processor and the Snapdragon X50 model, it makes complete sense to tie-up with Qualcomm.
