"They put 4 people that know nothing about football in charge of looking at the replay for VAR".

The PSG star took to Instagram to hit back at the decision against his team following a handball VAR review during their Champions League last-16 clash.

In his Instagram post in Portuguese, Neymar said, "It's a disgrace".

UEFA have confirmed that an investigation into Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar's video assisted referee (VAR) outburst on social media has been launched.

Neymar, who is now sidelined with a foot injury, had watched the game from the stands.

"A disciplinary investigation has been connection with the comments made on social media by the Paris Saint-Germain player Neymar following the above-mentioned match", UEFA said in a statement.

If the Uefa disciplinary panel decides the Brazilian's comments are inappropriate, he faces a punishment ranging from a fine to suspension.

In June Neymar's teammate Gianluigi Buffon was slapped with a three-match ban from European competition after a live-on-TV tirade against referee Michael Oliver following his former club Juventus' similarly dramatic quarter-final defeat to Real Madrid last season.

Neymar missed both legs of the tie after injuring his foot in January.
