Dolphins' QB situation murkier after Ryan Tannehill dealt to Titans

And his departure doesn't come as a big surprise when considering reports surfaced that the team was expected to go a different direction at the quarterback position under head coach Brian Flores.

Miami traded last year's starter Ryan Tannehill to the Titans on Friday, so it's in the market for a new face under center. The Dolphins get a fourth-round pick in 2020 and a 2019 seventh-round pick, and the Titans get Tannehill and a 2019 sixth-round pick according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. One of those teams who is looking to tank next season is the Miami Dolphins. "Ryan is a tireless worker who always put the team first".

This means that the Dolphins will without a doubt either sign a free agent quarterback, draft a quarterback, or trade for a quarterback.

The Ryan Tannehill era is over in Miami.

In seven seasons in Miami, Tannehill started all 88 games he played and moved up to third in franchise history for career passing attempts (2911), completions (1829), passing yards (20,434) and touchdown passes (123). She called the moment the "ultimate career high".

Well, except one quarterback who's been sitting on the sidelines for the last two years, waiting for his next opportunity in the NFL. He's also battled injuries for nearly all of his career, and the Titans have struggled when Mariota has missed time.

Over the next three years, he only appeared in six games and didn't start in one.

A native of Lubbock, TX, Tannehill heads into his eighth National Football League season. After trading for Tannehill, the Titans didn't waste time clearing out their quarterback room.

Tannehill will leave a $13.4 million dead cap on Dolphins salary cap in 2019.
