Interestingly, the Raiders had just paid Nelson a roster bonus of $3 million at the end of last season.

There are several mid-round quarterback options in this year's draft that coach Jon Gruden is familiar with from the Senior Bowl, like North Carolina State's Ryan Finley, Washington State's Gardner Minshew II and Buffalo's Tyree Jackson.

- Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Authority commissioners voted unanimously on Friday to approve a lease agreement that will keep the Raiders football team playing at the Coliseum for at least one more year.

"Normally, when you hand out a bonus for next year's season, there's a pretty good chance those guys are coming back", Gruden said December 28.

He finished 2018 with 63 catches for 739 yards and three touchdowns. He spent his first nine seasons in the league with the franchise.

For those who are, of course, thinking the Packers could bring Nelson back, it's not out of the question - but it may need to be at a discounted cost compared to his previous Green Bay contract when he made $8.25 million in 2017.

After the acquisitions of wide receivers Antonio Brown and Tyrell Williams, Nelson seemingly became expendable. He was a Pro Bowl selection and second-team All-Pro choice in 2014. In the final five games in which he played, however, he reeled in 38 passes for 386 yards.
