Love Island UK Star Mike Thalassitis Has Died At The Age Of 26

Former Love Island contestant Mike Thalassitis has died aged 26, his management has confirmed. Police have not commented on his death.

It's uncertain what caused Mike Thalassitis's death at the tender age of 26 but it's raised questions around the welfare of Love Island stars following the show.

Mike had also appeared in Celebs Go Dating and was in a relationship with TOWIE's Megan McKenna before breaking up previous year.

Thalassitis' friend Danny Cutts died a few months ago, on Christmas Eve, according to the Daily Mail.

Some reports have surfaced that the ex-footballer was having a hard time dealing with the death of his grandmother, who passed away a few months ago.

Thalassitis' fans and co-stars took to social media to offer their condolences.

Amber Davies also said: "I am in utter shock".

The nickname "Muggy Mike" came about after he had an argument with fellow Love Islander Chris Hughes. "I know personally it's hard to open up but it's the best thing you can do". My heart and soul and love goes out to his friends & family.

"RIP Muggy Mike", tweeted one fan. Please stop brandishing that. "A good guy, taken far, far to soon", he wrote. All the articles how dare you not use his real name. "My heart breaks for your family RIP" shared Rachel Fenton. "I'm in complete shock".

'Once you're finally out the other side, there will always be days when it hits you, but people are stopping me in the street and cuddling me and been really supportive'. My honest condolences to his family.

He subsequently appeared on E4's Celebs Go Dating. I feel so lucky as a man to have had a strong support network around me and a passion for something before love island. Taken far too young.

Kady McDermott, from Love Island series 2, posted: "In absolute shock". Our thoughts and prayers are now with his family and friends.

When he signed up for Love Island, he was still part of the team at Margate FC. In 2018, CBS announced it will produce an American version.
